One of the many great things about our work at Descriptive Video Works (DVW), is knowing what a difference our work makes in people’s lives. We are proud to have collaborated with Ubisoft to do the audio description (AD) for one of the first video game trailers to include AD. Now players with vision impairments can enjoy the "Assassin’s Creed Valhalla" trailer, AD version.
The DVW project team on "Assassin’s Creed Valhalla" included great writing and beautiful, haunting narration. Our viewers thought so too, sending lots of positive social.
If you are new to AD, here’s a good look at what accessible gaming means to people with impaired vision. Meet absolute joy about accessible entertainment from the Blind Gamer, Steve Saylor, from a special episode of "Blind Gamer Reacts to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla". About 4 minutes into the video, Steve starts discussing the accessibility of the franchise and what that means to him. At about 8 minutes, he reacts to the described trailer.
