On December 3, 2020, Descriptive Video Works (DVW) announced its appointment as the newest member of the Trusted Partner Network (TPN).

TPN is a global, industry-wide film and television content protection initiative.

The TPN helps companies prevent leaks, breaches, and hacks of their customers’ movies and television shows prior to their intended release.

According to Peter Gillespie, Descriptive Video Works Operations Manager, “for media, entertainment, and education clients, content is their most valuable asset. Ensuring content protection to the highest standard is more important than ever before. It is DVW’s number one priority to ensure our client’s assets are safe and secure throughout the production chain.”

Who formed the TPN?

TPN is a joint venture between two major entertainment industry associations, the Motion Picture Association (MPA), and the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA). The TPN establishes a single benchmark of minimum-security preparedness and actions for all vendors and their teams, wherever they work, and whatever their specialty.

Securing TPN certification was rigorous.

DVW thoroughly assessed and adjusted policies and security processes for certification compliance.  In some cases, this meant effecting minor changes to policies and procedures, while in others it meant adding or re-building infrastructure to ensure client materials are kept safe through the transportation, pre-production, production, and delivery stages.

Mr. Gillespie commented that “working through the TPN process took a great deal of foresight and determination. You need to be dedicated to achieving the outcome as every aspect of security in the production chain is examined, scrutinized, tested, and approved. Is it worth it? Absolutely: the TPN endorsement demonstrates to your existing and potential clients that your organization puts security first and that is a huge comfort to them!”

By joining TPN, DVW becomes part of a highly regarded group of studios which employ stringent security policies and workflows.

Each year, DVW will need to complete annual assessments to continually check and ensure TPN’s strict security requirements are met. Rest assured, your audio description content and data for film, broadcast, and video is safe, secure and private when working with Descriptive Video Works.
